Nikolay Zhelev is a doctor of philology, senior assistant professor in the “Literature of the Bulgarian Revival” section. His scientific interests are in the field of Bulgarian and Slovak literature from the 19th century. He researches the manifestation of Slavic ideas in Bulgarian literature, compares works of Bulgarian and Slovak literature.
